Terms of Use

1. Definitions

“ACB Ideas,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean ACB Ideas. “You” and “your” mean the individual user or the organization you represent (the “Partner Organization”). “Resources” means the Build the Life You Want Companion Resources listed below, together with any related materials ACB Ideas provides or makes available.

2. Materials Covered

The Resources include, without limitation:

• Build the Life You Want Facilitator Guide (PDF)
• Build the Life You Want Student Reading Guide (PDF)
• Build the Life You Want Lesson Plans 1–7 (PDF lesson plans, videos, PDF quizzes, PDF answer keys, PDF activities)
• Supporting materials on arthurbrooks.com, including articles (web pages and PDFs), quizzes, and other related content.

3. License & Scope of Use

Subject to these Terms, ACB Ideas grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Resources internally for educational, not-for-profit purposes only. Permitted use cases include:

• Classes, seminars, and workshops
• Small group meetings or book clubs
• Staff professional development sessions
• Inclusion of key content in other internal courses, student centers, or campus organizations

3.1 Distribution Limits

• Materials may be shared only within the Partner Organization.
• No external sharing of any portion of the Resources is permitted.

3.2 Posting & Linking

• You may link to or repost the Resources only within a secure, password-protected area of your organization’s website and only with prior written permission from ACB Ideas.
• The Resources may not be posted or linked on any public-facing website under any circumstances.

3.3 No Commercial Use

The Resources are for not-for-profit use only. Any use for monetary gain, including resale, paid access, monetized courses, or advertising, is strictly prohibited.

3.4 No Modifications Without Consent

You may not modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, or otherwise alter the Resources without prior written permission from ACB Ideas.

4. Access & Security

• Access must be limited to your authorized students, staff, or members via login credentials or SSO.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access credentials and for all activities under your accounts.

5. Prohibited Uses

• Public posting or linking on the open web
• External distribution beyond the Partner Organization
• Commercial exploitation or use for monetary gain
• Removing proprietary notices, trademarks, or copyright statements
• Reverse engineering, scraping, data mining, or automated downloading
• Any use that violates applicable law or infringes third-party rights

6. Confidentiality

You agree to treat the Resources as confidential and not to disclose, reproduce, or use them outside the scope permitted in these Terms without prior written consent from ACB Ideas.

7. Ownership

ACB Ideas retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Resources, including all intellectual property rights. No ownership rights are transferred to you under these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

THE RESOURCES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACB IDEAS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACB IDEAS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE RESOURCES. IN NO EVENT WILL ACB IDEAS’ TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ACB Ideas and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Resources in violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Resources after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
